For some reason the large majority of the projects I've been getting lately are for logo design. Not that I'm complaining because I really enjoy that type of work, but it's just a little odd to me that I've had so many recently.
Anyway, here's one that I just completed yesterday. This is for a client who is branching off of her marketing business to focus on on-line marketing. It's a fun logo...or at least it was fun to do. The client provided the juggling dog image, so I can't take credit for that, but the rest of it was my genius idea. :)
DINOMITE!!
So my baby will be 2 on Feb. 19th and he's all of the sudden into dinosaurs. Choosing a theme for his birthday party was pretty simple this year. Just threw together an invite and thought I'd get people's impressions. Cheezy?? Cute?? Cliché?? Perfect for Carson??
FYI – still checking on the date listed, so don't make any plans to call in your reservation to the Libby Hotel just yet. :)

Club Cerini Logo Project
Here's another interesting project for y'all to critique. The idea behind Club Cerini is this: there will be a "members only" dating website where people will pay to participate and hopefully find their "match" on-line (Cerini means "match" in Italian...in case you care). Once people have met on-line, then they'll have a chance to meet up at Club Cerini, which will be an exclusive, high-end nightclub. The concept is for people to be able to chat with other Club Cerini members they may be interested in dating and then for them to have a safe place to go and meet people they've already "met" on-line. Sounds like a logical idea, and something unique to the "on-line dating world".
The client had found an image of two matches burning side-by-side, but the image was a rights-managed image (meaning VERY expensive for those of you who aren't familiar with stock photography). He decided to pay a photographer to shoot some images of matches burning and then I used Adobe Photoshop to recreate the stock image. All in all, I think it turned out quite nicely.
Now to the logos...any thoughts??? Sorry...some of the taglines are hard to read. I'd rather not post high-res files on-line that other people might think are "free for the taking". Hopefully you get the idea. The two options for taglines are: "Meet Someone Tonight" or "Meet Your Match Tonight". (Click on the images to see them larger in another window) I'll list my favorite design below the logo concepts for those of you who are curious. Oh, and these are just the initial concepts...I'm waiting to hear if the client is comfortable with me manipulating the match image a bit to give him some other design options. We'll see what he says!

Learn something new every day...
...just had a client introduce me to a new phrase. He told me to "go ahead and 'font up' the text..." – interesting. "Font up"...never heard that before. I always enjoy hearing people try to describe changes they'd like made. A simple "increase the font size" would have sufficed. But instead, I got something fun to share with you all. Perfect!
Just another uneventful afternoon in the basement...all by myself.

Thoughts anyone?
I'm working on a logo project that is a bit complicated by the fact that there are actually TWO logos that need to be created for a couple of websites that are being created. These logos need to be similar in look/feel, but yet have their own identity. The first logo I'm working on is for a company called DEL Network. It's going to be an on-line networking site similar to www.linkedin.com. The "sister" site is going to be called DEL Advisory. This site will be one that people will pay to be a part of because it will be a place where entrepreneurs and small business owners can go for business advice and strategy tactics.
As of right now I've only made progress with the logo concepts for DEL Network. I'd love any feedback people may have on these. Good, bad, like, dislike, etc.....it's open season on my designs!! Have at it.
